Abstract

The promotion and implementation of affirmative actions to ease the obstacles that block and / or complicate the participation of minority linguistic groups in selective processes of admission to the University, are good inclusive practices at the present time. Called as a theoretical essay, the present article will critically examine the compliance with regulations that guarantee accessibility in Libras, for deaf candidates, in entrance exams. For this purpose, it will question the written test and the presence of a professional translator and interpreter of Libras/ Portuguese, defended as normative aspects of the national examination accomplishment, at this stage of teaching. Later, it will be analyzed the use of automatic translation software with avatars in this context, proposing reflections on the use of this technology in activities of this nature. Despite more than a decade of timely discussions on the subject, the accessibility of entrance exams in Libras warms up the debate about the potential and limitations of the professionals and the technologies available for this purpose, composing the necessary part of the analysis at the moment.
