Abstract

In this work we seek to highlight two fundamental points of the development of a research regarding the image of the black ethnic group in the teaching of Sociology in the Municipal and State schools of Paranaíba/MS. Through a bibliographical review, we sought to present the contribution and the role of the didactic book for the formation of the image of the black ethnic group, an image reproduced inside the schools by the process of socialization described by Èmile Durkheim and, secondly, the profile of the educator in charge of this socialization. Survey carried out in the Schools show results of an inadequate profile of the professionals in charge of the transmission of this knowledge in the State Schools of the Municipality; the analysis of textbooks reveals the almost complete absence of the black ethnic group as actors of the formation of Brazilian history and culture.
