Registration in the OJS System

All documents must be sent through the OJS platform, the RIPPMar journal's editorial process management system, at https://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/RIPPMAR/about/submissions. Documents must be submitted without identification of authorship, according to the template available.

Registration in the OJS system using a login and password is mandatory for document submission and subsequent access to monitor the ongoing editorial process. To do so, you must access your existing account (https://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/RIPPMAR/login) or register a new account (https://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/RIPPMAR/user/register).

Sections

Article: Original documents on the proposition, development, and results of research in public policies. Minimum 15 and maximum 25 pages, including references.

Literature Review: Original literature review documents on public policies. Minimum 20 and maximum 30 pages, including references.

Essay: Documents whose content refers to an opinion text in which ideas, criticisms, reflections, and personal impressions are exposed, carrying out an evaluation on topics related to public policies. Minimum 15 and maximum 25 pages, including references.

Experience Report: Original communications about experiences regarding public policies. Minimum 10 and maximum 20 pages, including references.

Case Study: Original documents about a specific reality, based on a concrete case of public policy. Minimum 10 and maximum 25 pages, including references.

Preprints: Original content document originating from academic-scientific research, posted in reliable online preprint repositories such as: SciELO Preprints (https://preprints.scielo.org/index.php/scielo); Preprints.org (https://www.preprints.org); etc. Minimum 15 and maximum 25 pages, including references.

Review: Documents that present a critical analysis of books, dossiers, dissertations, and theses. Minimum 4 and maximum 10 pages, including references.

Conditions for Submission

The author must verify the submission's compliance with all the items described below:

  1. Complies with the provisions of the ‘Quantity of Documents’: maximum of 2 articles per volume/year.
  2. The content of the document meets the focus and scope of RIPPMar.
  3. At least one of the authors must have a doctorate degree.
  4. The metadata of the author(s) are filled in correctly: name, affiliation, last academic degree, email address; ORCID number; link to the Lattes CV (if Brazilian); Postal code; telephone.
  5. Document metadata is filled in correctly in all three languages: title; subtitle (if any); abstract (maximum 350 words), keywords in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
  6. The document is saved in .DOC or .DOCX format (Microsoft Word), formatted and standardized according to the model (template) provided by the journal.
  7. The document meets the style (Word tool "Styles") used in each part of the model (template) and is identified with the prefix RIPPMar, for example: “1-RIPPMar-Title of Article 1” to facilitate identification.
  8. The document is written in either Portuguese, English or Spanish.
  9. The document must be typed in 1.5cm space, with margins of 3cm (top, bottom and left) and 2cm (right), the page must be A4 size. Pages must be numbered. The formatting of the body of the text is Calibri 12 font. The body of the text (paragraphs) must be justified and typed with 1.5cm spacing between lines. The first line of the paragraph must be offset by 1.25 cm.
  10. The document must be organized into topics, with each section typed in capital letters (upper case) and the subsections with only the initials in capital letters. Furthermore, progressive numbering must be applied to documents (ABNT NBR:6024/2003). Ex.: SUMMARY; ABSTRACT; RESUME; 1. INTRODUCTION; 2 THEORETICAL REFERENCE; 2.1 Subsection of the Theoretical Reference; 3 METHODOLOGICAL PROCEDURES; 4 RESULTS ANALYSIS; 5 CONCLUSION; REFERENCES; etc.).
  11. It is the author's responsibility to check that the figures, graphs, charts, and tables are correct. The title must start with a capital letter. Graphs, charts, and tables must be prepared in an editable format. They must correctly indicate the source from which they were extracted if they were not prepared in-house. In the body of the text, the following examples must be presented: Based on what is shown in Graph 1; According to what was revealed in Table 2; As can be seen in Figure 1; etc.
  12. It is the author's responsibility to check whether all citations are correct (name of person cited, year of publication and page of publication), are included in the references and use ABNT NBR:10520/2023. The accuracy of the citations used to prepare the content must be reliable.
  13. All references were cited and use ABNT NBR:6023/2018. The accuracy of the references used to prepare the content must be consistent. The author(s) must verify that they are correct. IMPORTANT: Only references that were cited in the body of the text should be referenced.
  14. The author applied ABNT standards: ‘Summary’ (NBR:6028); ‘Article in periodical publication’ (NBR:6022); ‘Progressive numbering of sections of a written document’ (NBR:6024); ‘Academic works’ (NBR:14724); ‘Norm for dating’ (NBR:5892); as well as the tabular presentation standard of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) (https://biblioteca.ibge.gov.br/visualizacao/livros/liv23907.pdf).
  15. The electronic addresses are updated, valid and active and correctly informed when present in the references.
  16. The document follows the bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for Authors and in the model (template) provided by the RIPPMar journal.
  17. The contribution is original and is not being evaluated for publication in another journal, except in the case of preprints, otherwise, it must be justified in “Comments to the Editor”.

Every document submission on RIPPMar's OJS platform is checked with the iThenticate software, a TurnItIn product that is a similarity and plagiarism checking tool.

RIPPMar does not publish documents that do not present scientific language and that contain grammatical and/or spelling errors. The author is responsible for the translation (when applicable) and spelling, grammatical and style corrections of the document submitted on the OJS platform.

The author must be aware that any violation of copyright, intellectual property laws and codes of research ethics are unacceptable and prohibited in this journal.

The document submitted on the OJS platform in non-compliance with the Editorial Policy and RIPPMar editorial standards is not accepted to continue in the editorial flow.

The document is published in the original language of submission on the OJS platform, accepted in Portuguese, English or Spanish.

RIPPMar reserves the right to make normative, spelling, and grammatical changes to the original, with a view to maintaining the cultured standard of the language, respecting the author's style. Versions of the original are made available in the OJS system, during the stages of the editorial process.

RIPPMar may request supplementary documents or additional annexes to assist in the evaluation, theoretical and methodological basis.

The published document becomes the property of the journal RIPPMar, with its total or partial reprint being subject to the Creative Commons CC BY license adopted by the journal, and the original publication source must be acknowledged. No submission, evaluation or editing fees are charged.
