This article aims to understand the perceptions of teachers in relation to the quality of remote teaching, mediated by digital technologies, in secondary and public technical schools in nine cities located in the Vale do Paraíba region, in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil. The research was developed from a case study with the application of an online questionnaire to 156 teachers who worked during the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020. The data obtained were organized and discussed based on three analytical axes, namely: 1) Quality of remote teaching; 2) The use of digital technologies in education; 3) Interactions in classes in times of a pandemic. The results showed that remote teaching in the highlighted technical schools was considered adequate and regular, in the perception of the participating teachers. In the same direction, they pointed out that the use of digital technologies and a practice supported by active methodologies were fundamental for the realization of remote classes, although many challenges, such as the interaction between teacher and student, were left to be desired. Therefore, from the perceptions of teachers, it is concluded that this research brings reflections that can contribute to the construction of indicators and dimensions that help in the analysis of the quality of education and the elaboration of educational public policies, in times of uncertainty, fears and care for life – pandemic/post-pandemic times.
