The law 10.639/03 was implemented from the intense mobilization of the black movements in the course of many years of struggle, made compulsory the teaching of Afro-Brazilian history and culture in public and private schools from elementary to middle schools. Education being a social and political support for society. The question is: how does education contribute to the deconstruction of racism in society? For the development of proposal, a qualitative bibliographic research was carried out, with approaches related to the institution of law 10.639/03 based on the responsibilities of education and teachers. Was carried out with a fifth grade class from a primary school I, so that the history of the subject could be verified in history classes. To obtain the results of the work, analyzes of student drawings, questionnaires with teachers and students and observations of the practices were carried out.
