Health education is one of the main strategic axes for health promotion at school, as it allows the educator to make interventions in the concrete reality of each subject's life, thus guaranteeing the integral formation of the student. The objective of this article is to describe the importance of health education in the school environment, and to verify the main themes that have been addressed in schools regarding adolescent health, based on bibliographic research. For this, a bibliographic survey was carried out on the Google Scholar platform, based on the following keywords: "health education at school" and "adolescence", in this initial search, approximately 35 academic productions published in the last 05 years on the theme, from this total 08 articles were selected for analytical reading, content organization and material analysis according to the objectives outlined for the construction of this article. It was concluded that schools tend to ally themselves with health professionals to reduce the occurrence of risk behaviors using health education practices, aiming at prevention among adolescents. There is a predominance in academic productions of educational health practices focused on sexuality in the school environment, focusing on the prevention of risk behaviors. Finally, this study leaves us with a reflection on how important it is to strengthen the link between education and health to favor the formation of a preventive character in the students.
