This paper deals with the analysis of the concepts of “democracy”, “representation” and “crisis” in Bobbio’s work and aims to clarify the use of the term crisis through an analysis of the current Brazilian political situation, specifically the representative democracy. The article is going to be divides in five items: first, we are going to analyze the concepts of democracy – within this item, we have the legitimacy of the democracy, the aspect of the “public power in public” and the relation of democracy with the aspect of the minorities – besides the concepts of representation, of representative democracy and of crisis. The approach is based on the Norberto Bobbio’s book The future of democracy and others, besides some small studies of the work on the theme of other authors such as Robert A. Dahl e John Stuart Mill to complement the discussion about the relation of democracy with the aspect of minorities.
