FORMATION AND INCLUSION OF A DEAF:
CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE BRAZILIAN SIGNALS LANGUAGE - LIBRAS

This study aims to understand the contributions of Brazilian Sign Language - LIBRAS to the life and formation of deaf people in the process of building knowledge and autonomy. It is a qualitative research, having as methodology the (auto)biographical research as an investigation instrument through the narratives of a deaf subject. The results showed that LIBRAS provided the deaf person with a construction of knowledge and autonomy, with this knowledge, the deaf person gave new meaning to moments of overcoming difficulties from the reconstruction of themselves in living with the other in their daily lives, providing opportunities for remaking their way of life and formation. Based on the subject's life histories and formation, the (auto) biographical narratives guided the understanding of how the insertion of the deaf subject into their daily lives occurs, and opens up a range of possibilities for future questions about the process of inclusion of the deaf subject in society, providing the (auto) formation built in the process of (auto) knowledge of the self.
