Abstract

The objective of this article is to revisit the Gramscian contributions on the integral State and the construction of a hegemony around teacher education. To meet the proposal, the socio-historical elements underlying the analysis of the author are located, inscribed in a scenario of war, the advance of cosmopolitan capital and the emergence of the fascist state. Rescues the theoretical-analytical bases of Gramsci's thought, based on the unique contribution of the writings of Marx and Engels to the formulation of the notion of integral State. It is defended the currentness of Gramsci's thought for the unveiling of the function of the State in capitalist society, mainly for the analysis of contemporary strategies, reorganization in the formation of teachers based on a hegemony.
