Neoliberalism, productive restructuring and new imperatives of capital in the urban context

Abstract

With the upcoming of its structural crises in the seventies, capitalism has undergone a series of socioeconomic and political transformations that seek to recover the capital accumulation rates. The urban has suffered a great impact from these alterations, going through deep transformations so it could adapt itself to the new production needs and goods circulation. This article strives to evaluate some of the changes that took place in the urban context and how they are straightly connected to capitalism contemporary imperatives.
