AN APPROACH THROUGH PLAY ACTIVITY FOR STUDENTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

The objective of this article was to investigate how students with Intellectual Disability of the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional (APAE) of the Municipality of Ilha Solteira manipulate the money, contributing to the learning about the banknotes, through the development of expression, communication and cognitive potential. The motivation for the work was due to the teacher's concern about the room noting that some students did not recognize the monetary system. From this observation, a proposal of activity was introduced to the classroom in order to develop the ability to recognize the monetary system, using the play activity as a significant instrument for learning. With the development of the proposed activity, the students were manipulating, identifying and differentiating the banknotes. Linked to this also allowed the development of an interdisciplinary work by making possible the approach of the themes: colors, animals and habitat present in the ballots. Thus, it was possible to glimpse the relevance of the activity carried out through playfulness aiming at future autonomy in relation to financial resources, characterizing as something that transcends the school environment, as it provides beyond the development of skills, independence and growth of the intellectual deficient, which , thus promoting social inclusion.
