Abstract

It is with great pleasure that we continue our work and present to the reader another publication from Revista Aurora. The Dossier Section of this issue has the theme: Worlds of Work: metamorphoses of capital and political crisis and is structured based on the following works: a) Trends in union activity in Brazil today, authored by Noêmia Lazzareschi, PhD in Social Sciences from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and professor in the Sociology department at PUC-SP; b) Theoretical considerations about work and available time, by Marcela Andresa Semeghini Pereira, PhD candidate in Social Sciences at UNESP-Marília; c) Alienation and bourgeois revolution in Brazil, by Adair Umberto Simonato Junior, master's student in Social Sciences at UNESP-Marília; d) From revolutionary socialism to centrist reformism: the Workers' Party and adaptation to the dominant discourse (1994-2002), by Guilherme Augusto Batista Carvalho, master's student in Political Science at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG); e) Émile Durkheim and socialism, by Sidnei Ferreira de Vares, PhD from the Faculty of Education of the University of São Paulo (USP). In the Miscellaneous Section, the published articles cover various themes and reflections on different social phenomena in the Human Sciences and are structured based on the following works: a) Brazilian communists in the context of international politics between the First and Second World Wars, by Rodrigo Ismael Maia, PhD student in Social Sciences at UNESP-Marília; b) Theoretical conceptions of contemporary times: multiple perspectives, by Marcelo Rodrigues Lemos, PhD student in Social Sciences at UNESP- Marília; c) Disciplinary society in Foucault's thought and the control society in Deleuze-Guattari's thought: the role of the educational institution and control in childhood, by Vivian de Jesus Correia e Silva, doctoral candidate in Psychology and Society at UNESP-Assis; d) The heirs of education: a brief reflection on the Brazilian scenario, by Tamyres Gaby Martins Alves, master in Social Sciences from the Postgraduate Program at UNESP-Araraquara.
