About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Revista Aurora was created during the second semester of 2007. Its first edition is dated December 3, 2007.  The journal is coordinated by students of the Postgraduate Program in Social Sciences at São Paulo State University - UNESP – Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences – Marília

As of volume 17 of 2024, Aurora Journal began to adopt the rolling pass Publication method, the articles are published as they are approved.  The Aurora Journal publishes one volume  per year, the full summary and editorial are published after the volume closes.

The journal  has six sections: Dossier, Miscellaneous, Essay, Reviews, Interviews and Special Section, it seeks to create another space for the discussion of both classical and contemporary themes, seeking the constant promotion of dialogue between areas of knowledge in the Social Sciences, such as Anthropology, Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy and the History. The Revista Aurora is not characterized, therefore, as a departmental journal, rather, it opens space for the interdisciplinary debate present in the four lines of research of the Postgraduate Program of Unesp-Marilia, which are: Line 1: Social Thought and Public Policies; Line 2: Culture, Identity and Memory; Line 3: Work, and Sociability; Line 4: International Relations and Development.

Committed to social criticism, to critical and innovative reflection on social problems, to pluralism in the field of research and to openness to the different aspects of the Social Sciences, the Revista Aurora is open to the collaboration of researchers, teachers and students from any university and research institute in Brazil and abroad.

Revista Aurora is a continuous flow journal, it receives articles for free section and articles for thematic dossier, in addition to essay, reviews and interviews. The journal does not require a minimum degree for submission of articles. There is no fee for submitting contributions to the journal. Likewise, once approved, all material is shared freely and at no cost to readers and authors on our website.

Articles must be unpublished in national and international publications and may be published in Portuguese, English or Spanish. 70% of the articles published will be primarily from institutions outside the Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (UNESP).
