This article brings a clipping of the history of the reception of Gramsci's thought in Brazil from a meeting promoted by the Social Work Course at UFMA and which enabled an important political discussion. We return to some aspects of this controversy to understand the relationship between politics and education, showing the possibilities of reading that Gramsci's fragmentary text makes possible. The article aims to show that Gramsci's writings can be read from different perspectives in order to interpret the movement of the real, which accentuates the richness of his writings.
