Abstract

The present article, consists of a brief analysis of the pioneering role of Vicente de Paula Faleiros when introducing the thought of Antonio Gramsci in the Brazilian Social Work, through the Trabajo social, ideologia y método (1972) and Metodologia e ideologia do trabalho social (1981). Gramsci's categories were used by Faleiros (1972; 1981) in order to contribute to rethinking the profession of Social Work and in articulation with subordinate groups. The methodological approach used in this text consists of an immanent analysis.

Integrou a Coordenação Nacional da International Gramsci Society Brasil (IGS-Brasil), entre 2017-2022.
