Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify relevant literature fragments on the development of information competence in the elderly in the Scielo and Scopus databases. The methodology used involves the search for keywords and analysis of adherence of the results to the proposed theme. The results pointed to thirteen international studies involving the areas of applied social sciences, health sciences and computer science. In terms of Ibero-America, five results were recovered on health literacy, which has been a movement investigated in the field of health.

    PhD student in Information Science of the Postgraduate Program in Information Science (PGCIn) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (year of entry - 2016). Master in Information Science (2015) and Bachelor in Librarianship (2012) by the same institution. It develops research related to the political dimension of information competence and to the development of this competence in the elderly group. Scholarship holder - CAPES. Researcher of the Group of Studies and Research in Information Competency (GPCIn), registered in the directory of research groups of CNPq and certified by UFSC

    He holds a bachelor's degree in Librarianship from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1991), a Master's degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1996) in the area of ??Quality Management in Libraries and a PhD in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2004) ) in the area of ??Media and Knowledge and Distance Education (EaD). She is currently a professor in the Department of Information Science (CIN), the Center for Educational Sciences (CED), the Federal University of Santa Catarina, and the Librarianship Course. He works mainly in the following areas: organization and treatment of information, information professionals, scientific methodology, research methodology, distance education and information competence. Currently, she is a Research Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Information Science (PGCIN) at master's and doctoral level, whose research, discipline and guidelines are developed in the area of ??information literacy. He is the leader of the GPCIn Research Group - Competence in Information, registered at CNPq and certified by UFSC. He completed a post-doctoral course, funded by CAPES, at the Faculty of Letters (FLUP), University of Porto (UP), Portugal, in the period of January. 2015 to jan. 2016 (Process: BEX 2398 / 14-1).
