Abstract

The article integrates two texts previously published in abridged and edited form in the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper. The first is devoted to the problem of poverty. The author characterizes the scale and causes of poverty in Russia, showing that the basis of this phenomenon is the capitalist system of socioeconomic relations in general and its specific Russian model in particular. The directions of poverty reduction, the implementation of which is possible within the framework of the capitalist system, are highlighted. The second text analyzes the reasons for the stagnation of the Russian economy and gives a brief description of a possible strategy of eco-social-humanitarian development. Both texts characterize the directions of deep reforms that can and should become a prologue for qualitative changes in the socio-economic system and the transition to a socialist development path.
