With the help of empirical, bibliographical and documental investigation, this paper aims to present notes on the challenges faced by Zapatismo (Chiapas - Mexico) in the execution of its agroecological project. This Movement faces adverse conditions for the implementation of its agroecological project, due to the advance, in its territories and their surroundings, of economic development projects of various sizes, guided by perspectives incompatible with agroecology. On the other hand, the Movement, not without contradictions and adverse conditions, registers successful cases, implementing various initiatives for the execution of its agroecological project, which, besides the production of healthy food, aims at the defense of Madre Tierra, an objective imbricated with the issue of Human Rights.
