In “Irene No Céu”, Manuel Bandeira offers us a brief picture of a character who is stigmatized by racial prejudice. The poet intent to give her a new perspective through researches of poetic language. Thus, it´s possible to discuss some questions about that subject focused on by the Brazilian modernist poet.
