The present work carries out a critical analysis of the work Sociology of the Black Brazilian, published in 1988 by Clóvis Moura. The text highlights Moura's contribution in relating Marxist thought and the racial issue as a way to break with racist structures in Brazilian society. According to the author, the anti-capitalist struggle must take racism into account as an important form of oppression and exclusion in societies such as Brazil.
