About the Journal

Focus and scope

The Diálogos e Perspectivas em Educação Especial Journal (RDPEE) was created in 2014, being a biannual Journal and publishing scientific articles on different topics in Inclusive Education. It focuses on encouraging publication in the field of education studies, highlighting disability as a characteristic of human diversity. It still focuses on the school as an ideology of struggle for the appreciation of the plurality of those who transit through it and are related to the constitutive aspects of the teaching and learning processes and the contribution to thinking about human development in related areas. As a scope, it seeks to present and disseminate studies from research on inclusive educational policies, cultures and practices, as well as to stress current issues by proposing a critical analysis of Special Education from an inclusive perspective.

RDPEE does not have a publication and editing fee (articles processing charges – APC). It meets the demand for continuous flow, and there may be special issues organized in the form of Thematic Dossiers, organized from the selection of works presented and/or awarded at scientific events in the area or, still, selected through a specific public notice.

The online Journal is open to the entire scientific community, with access through the Journals Portal of the Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences (FFC) of the São Paulo State University (UNESP). To ensure a greater number of authors in the Journal, each author and/or co-author may publish only one article per year. The work submitted to the Journal must have an author with a PhD and a maximum of three authors per work. Collaborations for the RDPEE can be presented as: theoretical essays, research reports and reviews. The Journal may eventually accept other types of contributions that do not fit into these fixed sections, namely: bibliographic review, experience reports, technical articles and testimonials and/or interviews.

The Revista Diálogos e Perspectivas em Educação Especial Journal will be available online and its access is free.

OTHER SECTIONS

Literature Review

The Literature Review must be composed of research syntheses or meta-analyses, with a critical evaluation of previously published material. It is expected that the authors, when integrating and evaluating the data, explain possible gaps and advances in the area of Special Education and/or Education from an inclusive perspective. Although there is no pre-defined section structure for this type of contribution, authors should also pay attention to fundamental aspects of the method of this type of text, namely: search bases and criteria for carrying out this search; survey period and considered descriptors; how the material found was analyzed; and, finally, it is suggested that this material be presented in a results section, according to the current standards of qualified or peer-reviewed scientific Journals. It is also suggested the use of current tools that help in the elaboration of these searches, such as: Parsifal, Zotero and NVivo.

Experience Reports

A scientific description of educational procedures and technologies, aiming at a better equation of situations or educational problems and/or a better performance of the professional in the field of Special Education. The sections of this text are freer, but it is of fundamental importance to have an introduction and a development that explains how the experience was conducted.

Testimonials and/or Interviews

Section opens to researchers and/or personalities with public representation in the area of Special Education, with a view to describing testimonials and/or interviews on topics relevant to the Journal.
