    Carlos Maciel Sánchez, “Kijano”, is a Mexican artist with global level exposure and a professor of history. His formation as an artist begins in Mexico with a study of painting, passes through engraving at the Santo Domingo Factory, and is completed with engraving and lithography at the National Graphic Arts Workshop “Nivinski” in Moscow, Russia.

    He has already made more than 100 exhibitions, between individual and collective. In 1973 he presented his first solo exhibition at Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow, Russia, after which he successfully held 46 exhibitions in various cities in Russia, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Costa Rica, Latvia, Peru, Chile, and the USA. His work is part of the collection of several museums and institutions around the world and, in addition, he developed an important work as an illustrator of magazines and books.
