Author Biography

Modesto Emílio Guerrero , journalist

Journalist and Venezuelan political and social militant. In 1982 he was elected deputy. He was a representative of the National Union of Workers (UNT) until 2006. In July 2007 he founded the PSUV in Buenos Aires, the first expression of that party outside of Venezuela. His work to disseminate the Bolivarian revolution in Argentina has made him an obligatory source of information for the press and analysis for political and social movements. He has lectured in Norway, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina. He is the author of Stories, Stories, and Poems (1985), Haiti: the Last Duvalier (1986), Panama, sovereignty and Revolution (1990), Mercosur: origin, evolution, perspectives (2005), Mercosur and the Bolivarian Revolution (2006). , Reports on Latin America (2007), the analytical biography Who Invented Chávez? (2007). His other biographical book, Reportaje con la Muerte (2002), about the Argentine journalist Leonardo Henrichsen murdered in Chile in 1973, was made into a film in 2008 under the title "Even if it costs me my life." In 2009 he published Venezuela 10 years later, dilemmas of the Bolivarian Revolution, Ediciones Herramienta, Buenos Aires. He specialized in international analysis; He writes opinion columns in the newspaper Página 12 and the magazines ContraEditorial and Buenos Aires Económico. He is a permanent contributor to Revista Herramienta.
