Abstract

This article addresses the splittings arising from the trauma of women as a consequence of sexual abuse in childhood. In many cases, they forget the event that caused the trauma: however, it invades the life, body and experience of each of them until it bursts and crosses the memory barrier. Based on stories from women who have gone through this experience, the objective of this work is to carry out a phenomenological approach to the dynamics between body, memory, story and pain, in order to discover how something forgotten operates in the present, even more powerfully than conscious memory, and the consequences of such a fact in lived experience. Such phenomenological analysis will be carried out from the philosophy of Husserl, Merleau-Ponty and some of their eminent readers (Geniusas, Leder, Fuchs, Umbelino).
