Resumen

En 2002, el sur de África sufrió una grave crisis alimentaria. A pesar de las dificultades, algunas naciones de esta región rechazaron la ayuda alimentaria de los EE. UU. Debido a la presencia de organismos genéticamente modificados. Afirmaron que la comida no era segura para el consumo de su población. El documento aborda las principales razones de la donación de OMG en los Estados Unidos. Con base en el análisis documental, las audiencias del Congreso y la revisión de la literatura, argumentamos que aunque las donaciones pueden tener la intención de ayudar a los problemas de emergencia de estos países africanos y latinoamericanos, la ayuda alimentaria también promueve los intereses del mercado estadounidense, sin tener en cuenta las concepciones de salud pública y los intereses económicos. de esos países
