The purpose of this article is to present the brazilian diplomacy contested the subsidies of the Common agricultural Policy (CAP of the European Union in the World Trade Organization (WTO) during the transition from the FHC era (1995-2002) to the Lula era (2003-2010). The ramifications of this endeavor generated two results: 1º) the European Union incorporated the indications of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body and corrected the distortions pointed out by Brazil that were outside the rules of international agricultural trade; and 2º) the litigation served to bring developing countries closer, facilitating the creation of the agricultural G-20.
