ANÁLISE DO GASTO ENERGÉTICO EM INDIVÍDUOS COM AMPUTAÇÃO DURANTE ATIVIDADES FÍSICAS: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA

Resumo

O objetivo do trabalho foi analisar por meio de uma revisão sistemática o gasto energético em indíviduos amputados (transtibial e transfemoral). Esta revisão sustentou-se nas seguintes bases de dados: PubMed, SPORTDiscus e Web of Science, utilizando uma combinação das seguintes palavras-chave: energy expenditure, handicapped, physically disability, amputee, prostheses, sports, physical exercise. Um total de 916 artigos foi identificado nas bases de dados. Após a exclusão das duplicatas e dos artigos que não estavam de acordo com os critérios de elegibilidade, a partir da leitura dos títulos, resumos e artigos completos, 15 artigos foram selecionados para inclusão na revisão sistemática. Os artigos foram agrupados em duas categorias diferentes: 1) artigos que analisaram o gasto energético em indivíduos amputados comparado a indivíduos não amputados e 2) artigos que analisaram o gasto energético em indivíduos amputados utilizando diferentes próteses e em diferentes atividades. A presente revisão sistemática indica que os indivíduos amputados apresentam maior gasto energético durante a deambulação do que indivíduos não amputados. Além disso, pode-se acrescentar que: 1) a amputação transfemoral gera um maior gasto energético do que a amputação transtibial, 2) quanto maior a velocidade e a inclinação da superfície de deambulação maior o gasto energético para indivíduos amputados, 3) amputados com utilização de muletas para deambular apresentam maior gasto energético em comparação a amputados que utilizam próteses.
