Abstract

This manuscript is a delimitation of two administrations at the Brazilian Association of Adapted Motor Activity - Sobama, dated 2014/2016 and 2016/2018. The central idea was to report about the experiences and challenges faced by Sobama's board of directors, during these administrations chaired by Marli Nabeiro and vice-president Manoel Osmar Seabra Junior. These challenges were faced, being necessary adjustment of the statute, to comply with the legal updates. Such actions allowed to consolidate the Association, advances in bureaucratic, academic and scientific advances, to bring new evidence to the area of adapted motor activity in the country. Thus, academic scientific events were organized and supported, which brought together scholars from the area of adapted motor activity, disseminating and expanding knowledge in the educational, social, therapeutic and sports fields. Such events took place bringing together members and friends of Sobama, national and international, who brought their experiences in dealing with professional training and the didactic context and multi-professional collaboration. In addition, efforts were made to recover the Sobama and Adapta website and magazines, which were milestones for socializing knowledge and working with the community for most of its 25 years of existence. With this, known marked as stages in the trajectory of Sobama and the unique experience of the members of the management of the Association.
