PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE OF A PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER AT THE PESTALOZZI ASSOCIATION IN MACEIÓ – ALAGOAS

Abstract

This article aims to identify how a Physical Education teacher of the Pestalozzi Association of Maceió - Alagoas conducts his pedagogical practice to meet the educational needs of his students with disabilities. Our study is qualitative, and we use the case study. In addition, it was held in an institution specialized in pedagogical attendance. The representative sample of this study is composed by an interview granted by the Physical Education teacher of the institution. As a data collection instrument we used a semi-structured interview with the educator and three observations of the lectures that were properly recorded in field diaries. For data interpretation, thematic content analysis was used. The results show that the pedagogical practices of Physical Education teachers need better elaboration and valorization, that is, the teacher believes that one should seek more continuous formation and own teaching strategies by the educators to work the body culture contents, Even though the institution is specialized in Special Education, there is a need to think of a class focused on the great diversity of disabilities. Among the deficiencies we can mention: intellectual, physical, visual, auditory, multiple and deafblindness. Still, it is understood the importance of pedagogical practices where the role of the teacher should be strategically contextualized with disabilities and particularities of their students.
