AVALIANDO ATITUDES SOBRE DIREITOS HUMANOS: DESAFIOS (DES)ATUAIS

A Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos criada pelas Nações Unidas tem sido um avanço significativo para a humanidade na procura de proteger os direitos fundamentais e garantir a dignidade humana em todo o mundo, para todos os indivíduos. Apesar dos avanços notáveis na garantia destes direitos, a humanidade ainda tem um longo caminho a percorrer. Em 2023, ainda há notícias de violações desses direitos em diferentes áreas e níveis de gravidade – e o Brasil também faz parte dessa realidade. A psicologia tem muito a contribuir para o tema, inclusive desenvolvendo instrumentos capazes de medir atitudes em relação aos direitos humanos e encontrar formas de promovê-los. Utilizando bases de dados internacionais, investigou-se instrumentos que medem as atitudes em relação aos direitos humanos com o conteúdo da Declaração. O Human Rights Questionnaire destacou-se pelos esforços em refletir o conteúdo alvo. A conclusão é que há urgência na criação e validação de um instrumento para o cenário brasileiro capaz de permitir avaliação das atitudes dos cidadãos sobre os direitos humanos.
