Brazilian Journal of Information Science - BRAJIS is a open access journal that publishes articles resulting from research related to the broad field of Information Science and related areas, such as Librarianship, Archival Science, Museology and the like.
BRAJIS publishes articles resulting from theoretical or empirical research, as well as translation of classical or fundamental texts related to the broad field of Information Science. Thus, all articles should highlight to what extent their theme is current and relevant to the theoretical-methodological universe of Information Science, considering the specialized literature in the area, including classic texts and also texts published in the last five years.
Priority will be given to articles that bring a broader theoretical and / or methodological contribution to the field of Library and Information Science, on an international level, publishing only in special situations and of undeniable merit, very particularized studies, whether in geographical scope ( such as those relating to an institution, city, etc.) or in the methodological dimension (such as case studies, for example).
At least one of the authors must have PHD degree.
Target: scientific community, academics and professional working in Library and Information Science field and its sub-areas.
Peer Review ProcessBefore sending submissions to reviewers, editors will assess the manuscript based on following aspects:
a) omission of the author's data in the body of the text (will be included only after approval to ensure blind evaluation),
b) adaptation to the journal template;
c) spelling and grammar correction;
d) inclusion of metadata in 2 languages, English being obligatorily one of them.
e) adequacy of the scope and focus of the journal;
f) originality using the Turnitin similarity verification tool;
g) presentation of objective (s) and methodology clearly;
If the submission does not meet these criteria it will be rejected before the merit evaluation of the content.
Reviewers are suposed to consider the following guidelines:
1. Contribution of the text to the area
2. Topicality of the theoretical foundation;
3. Description of the methodology used in the research;
4. Depth of the arguments;
5. Focus on the research question;
6. Quality of the text (grammar correction, clarity, logic and coherence);
7. Quality of graphics, figures and illustrations;
8. Arguments and conclusions.
BRAJIS allows the dissemination of published articles (post print) on the authors' personal and institutional web pages, institutional and thematic repositories, as well as on social networks.
