The work aims to study the intervention of the United Nations in the 2006 Israeli-Lebanese conflict that brought human losses and instability to the region. The United Nations, through its Security Council, has articulated a cooperation agreement between Israel, France, Lebanon and the United States, putting an end to hostilities. The study of this case is important because it allows an understanding of the historical context, the theoretical conceptions and the efforts that nations, within the scope of international society, had to create instruments that would make world peace possible. The hypothetical-deductive method, therefore, offers the means to construct, methodologically, the analysis of the theme of this research and the formation of a conjecture to answer the problem initially posed. The hypotheses raised in this research are: If the United Nations has effectively intervened in the Israeli-Lebanese conflict, has this organization been able to resolve this international conflict? If the United Nations has not effectively intervened in the Israeli-Lebanese conflict, has this organization been unable to resolve this international conflict?
