About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Journal Rev. Assoc. Bras. Ativ. Mot. Adap. is a dissemination body of the Brazilian Society for Adapted Motor Activity and was created to meet the needs of dissemination and discussion of scientific production and issues of the area of Adapted Motor Activity.

The Journal accepts the submission of original manuscripts of professionals and researchers from different areas such as Physical Education and Sports, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Special Education, Psychology and other interdisciplinary fields, whose manuscripts are related to the Area of Adapted Motor Activity or are pertinent to the interests of Sobama Journal´  s readers.

Peer Reviewed

The Journal is available online for free.

All the submitted articles will analysed through Turnitin Software for plagiarism, before being sent to reviewers. This analysis focuses on similarities that do not fit the norms of direct citation.

The Journal does not charge submissions or processing fees.

The articles will be blind peer reviewed by at least three experts from national or international higher Education Institutions.

The article must be accepted by at least two reviewers to be considered for  publication.

Manuscripts can be returned to the author in case the reviewers suggest  revisions.

The peer review may take 3 months. The publication process may take up to 6 months

The accepted articles will be published online on an ongoing basis.

 Minor changes may be made by editors, such as grammar corrections, diagrams, standardization (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards).

Types of collaboration accepted by the Journal

Original manuscripts related to the area of adapted motor activity that meet the following categories:

Articles (describe research participants according to the incorporation of current research concepts, mentioning, whenever possible: color (white, black, brown, yellow); ethnicity (Afro-descendant, indigenous, etc.); and sex and gender).

Essay

Literature Review

Case estudy (describe research participants according to the incorporation of current research concepts, mentioning, whenever possible: color (white, black, brown, yellow); ethnicity (Afro-descendant, indigenous, etc.); and sex and gender).

Book Review

 

Rules for publication in the magazine

After the article is submitted, additions of names of other authors will not be accepted.

After approval, articles may undergo alterations that do not modify the content, such as: rules for citations and references, keywords and grammatical corrections.

Each author or co-author may publish one article per semester.

The reception of the articles is in continuous flow and according to the order of arrival.

This journal offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.
