Abstract

Abstract: Universities have been a space for theoretical formulations and practical experiments, together with social movements and peripheral communities, supporting popular demands and public policies. Faced with the crisis, the increase in unemployment, poverty, hunger and social inequalities, the research deals with the contributions of universities to the construction of prospects for development and social well-being, for a new cycle of national reconstruction in times of pandemics. Among the actions, the initiatives in Emancipatory and Solidarity Economies point to practices of cooperation and care, associated and self-managed work, technological and sustainable practices, little known in society. To contribute to the systematization and dissemination of these actions, as part of research by the Center SoU_Ciência/Unifesp, dedicated to the defense of science and public universities, the research has mapped university extensionist groups and actions in this subject, active in networks and collaborations with society and governments. Through a bibliographical review, selection of sources and interviews with relevant actors at the head of national articulations and in dialogue with public policies, the study seeks to base the creation of a Panel, with a Timeline of actions, Map of initiatives and university networks, thematic glossaries, and bibliometric studies on the subject.
