De que morre o nosso povo? (1963) was Aguinaldo Nepomuceno Marques' volume published in the colection Cadernos do Povo Brasileiro. Theoretically engaged, the book is based on the ideas of the national-reformism from the ISEB and also on the etapist conception of the Brazilian revolution held by PCB in that time. Here, the book is critically analyzed in relation to current health concepts and the historical context of the 1960s in Brazil. It is concluded that Marques was a pioneer in criticisms that would be made to conceptions of health by the field of collective health, as well as being an example of an initiative for the popularization of science.
