The rise of the trade war between China and the US since the inauguration of US President Donald Trump (2017-2020) has given rise not only to the debate about diplomatic and commercial relations between both countries, but also in relation to the development of 5G technology. With the ban on the circulation of products from Huawei (the main manufacturer of the technology mentioned in the US competitor country) among american government representatives in 2018, and the ban on the purchase of equipment by US companies in 2019, the question arises thy the attack the chinese manufacture in the country. The work aims to analyze the issue from the writing of english intellectual Susan Strange, especially the power analysis model proposed in her work ‘State and Markets’. It is intended to express, from the theoretical framework presented, the 5G technology is a key piece from the maintenance and expansion of contemporany power structures, which is why it has been pursued and debated in the contemporany conflit.
