This article discusses Franco-African neocolonial relations in the 21st century, evaluating their lines of continuity and possible changes. It adopts a qualitative methodology, based on a literature review and on the hermeneutic method. The article is divided into four sections, in addition to the introduction and conclusion, which correspond to the four governments that marked the period in question (Jacques Chirac, from 1995 to 2007; Nicolas Sarkozy, from 2007 to 2012; François Hollande, from 2012 to 2017; and, Emmanuel Macron, from 2017 to the present). The analysis of how each of these governments conducted France's policy towards Africa shows that, despite French leaders' recurrently issuing speeches of transformation in relations and, despite these actually undergo some punctual changes, the structure and the content of Françarfique throughout the entire period remains the same.
