Author Guidelines

BJIR - Brazilian Journal of International Relations accepts unpublished works in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, in the form of articles, bibliographic essays and reviews in the field of International Relations. The works must be of academic and social interest and intelligible to the educated reader.

The publication of works is conditioned to the opinions of Members of the Scientific Board of BJIR - Editorial Board, Editorial Board and ad hoc Reviewers -, who are guaranteed anonymity in the review process. Any suggestions for changes in the works (structure and content) will be agreed with the authors.

Articles must be submitted via e-mail (bjir.marilia@unesp.br) or through the BJIR online management system. They must be accompanied by abstracts of at least 100 to 250 words and all authors must send abstracts, keywords and titles of articles in Portuguese and English. The abstract must express a synthesis of purposes, the methods used and the scientific results obtained.

All authors must send their resume at the time of manuscript submission. The curriculum must be arranged in a single paragraph, in Times New Roman font, size 12, containing between 100 and 130 words, presenting the academic background, institutional affiliation, main publications and areas of interest of the author.

The minimum degree to send manuscripts is a master's degree in International Relations or related areas. This information, as well as the data of the author(s), such as the position held, areas of interest, etc., must be included in the magazine's system or in a separate file.

Researchers who do not have this degree can contribute as co-authors, provided the other author presents the required degree.

Articles must have a maximum of 30 pages typed in a Word 97-2003 document or higher, written in Times New Roman format, size 12, space 1.5.

Graphs and tables must be accompanied by the respective source sheets, indicating the units in which the values are expressed and the corresponding sources.

Notes must be substantive, being restricted to additional comments essential for understanding the text.

Citations must follow the ABNT 10520/2002 standard: up to three lines in the body of the text highlighted by quotation marks; larger than three lines with 4cm indentation on the left side, single spacing, font size 10 and no quotes.

The Bibliographic References must be inserted in the text, following the format 'AUTHOR, date, page', for example: Oliveira (2011, p.5) or (OLIVEIRA, 2011, p.5). At the end of the article, the bibliographic references must be presented, according to the ABNT standard NBR 6023/2018:
