Resumo

Trata-se da análise do modelo de política liberal de Thomas Sowell a partir de sua visão restrita de igualdade e justiça. Com o intuito de demonstrar sua proposta filosófica abordarei um ponto específico de sua teoria, a saber: as ações afirmativas. Do que será exposto é possível perceber como esse modelo de política pública compensatória mostra-se insustentável em sociedades liberais, bem como promove o que há de menos satisfatório para o indivíduo e para o grupo preferencial. Como fio condutor da pesquisa serão utilizadas as obras de Sowell A conflict of visions e Affirmative action around the world.
